In the last three weeks, Cardano (ADA) has added more than 50,000 new staking addresses, which has brough the total to an important milestone of over 650K staking addresses.

Earlier this week, Charles Hoskinson, the founder and CEO of IOHK, the Cardano developer announced plans to travel to El Salvador to discuss Cardano deployment, similar to Bitcoin’s earlier adoption.

The number of addresses staking Cardano ADA has totaled 659,000 and 2,647 active staking mining pools, according to Pooltool data. Total staked funds are currently worth $30 billion, and they represent 71.27% of ADA’s total supply.

The number of addresses are increasing fast. Just on June 3, Cardano passed 600,000 active opt-in addresses for the first time. Back then, the network had reached 608,391 wallets with 2,561 active pools.

Earlier this week Hoskinson announced his plans to bring the project to El Salvador. El Salvador made history earlier in June to became the first country to give Bitcoin legal tender status. Many leaders in the crypto space have expressed interest in learning more about and taking part in the historic move. In addition many countries, especially small countries in Latin America have expressed interest to follow El Salvador, which could open opportunities for other projects beyond bitcoin.

During a live broadcast, Hoskinson said that the Cardano team has been in contact with El Salvador authorities and political parties, and that he hopes to visit the country soon. So far, nothing has been confirmed.
