Billy Markus: NFT Platforms and DOGE-ETH Bridge Would Help Dogecoin

According to Billy Markus, co-creator of Dogecoin, two things must happen in order for DOGE to thrive: a bridge between Dogecoin (DOGE) and Ethereum (ETH) and non-fungible token (NFT) platforms for Dogecoin.

The meme coin co-creator shares with his 500K followers on Twitter that the construction of a DOGE-ETH bridge in combination with an NFT platform such as OpenSea adopting the token would increase its utility value.

“NFT purchasing is high demand with crypto. Allowing for DOGE purchases of NFTs greatly increases its utility.”

DOGE-ETH bridge was earlier proposed by Ethereum co-founder and member of Dogecoin advisory board, Vitalik Buterin, who suggested that the bridge could lead to lower transaction fees and faster speeds.

Buterin told Lex Friedman, back in June that,

“If we have a secure DOGE-to-Ethereum bridge then that would be amazing. And when Ethereum gets its scalability, you would be able to trade with DOGE at extremely low transaction fees and very high speed as well.”

Elon Musk has been vocal about the Dogecoin in the past. While is very fond of the meme coin, he has suggested that DOGE should lower its transaction fees.

At the time fo writing Dogecoin trades at $0.22 with 8.9% gains on a daily chart according to CoinMarketCap.
