OnlyFans Adopts Verified Ethereum NFTs As Profile Pictures

OnlyFans, the adult content-friendly subscription platform, allows users to set verified NFTs as profile pictures.

According to a Reuters report, OnlyFans however, will only support NFTs minted on the Ethereum blockchain and will show an Ethereum icon on NFT profile pictures to mark them as authentic. The company introduced NFT profile pictures in December.

OnlyFans has become a popular way for content creators to make money for content by selling it to subscribers. With the latest move, OnlyFans joins many social media companies, such as Twitter, who have launched NFT profile picture support.

Earlier this week, YouTube wrote in a blog post that technologies like “blockchain and NFTs can allow creators to build deeper relationships with their fans.”

OnlyFans CEO Amrapali Gan commented:

“Our mission is to empower creators to own their full potential. This feature is the first step in exploring the role that NFTs can play on our platform.”

OnlyFans has been trying to shake off its pornographic image. In August, the Founder and former CEO Tim Stokely said that banking relationships have been compromised due to OnlyFans’ adult content.
