AMC Theatres Confirms The Go-Live Date For DOGE & SHIB Payments

Adam Aron the chief executive of AMC Theatres announced on Twitter that the company will go live with Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) payments later this month.

After going back and forth with including DOGE and SHIB as payment methods, Adam Aron, the CEO of AMC Theatres CEO confirmed that it will happen by March 19th. Mobile users will be able to pay with Shiba Inu and Dogecoin mid-April.

One of the largest movie chain theaters in the world, AMC Theatres, has been in the crypto payments space for a year and allowed customers to buy tickets and other goods via bitcoin, ether, and other crypto assets.

However, a lot of their customers have pushed for the addition of Dogecoin and Shiba Inu.

While Aron has be receptive for the feedback, the process has been somewhat slow. At first, the firm adopted Dogecoin only for digital gift cards and promised to do more later.

Back in November last year, Aron announced that the addition of Shiba Inu is next on the schedule, but the team required some time to complete the technical elements.

Now the AMC chief executive tweeted that AMC has partnered with BitPay and will start accepting online payments with the two tokens on its website by March 19th. Mobile app users will be able to make such transfers by April 16th.
