Carmakers Toyota And Nissan Are Planning Entries Into The Metaverse

Japanese car manufacturers Toyota and Nissan are entering the metaverse, creating new virtual offices and events for the community.

Making moves in the Metaverse space has become a trend with the major brands and companies. The latest moves come from two leading automakers, Toyota and Nissan.

The two companies have announced their entry into the Metaverse to offer new virtual experiences to their users, organizing digital events and building virtual customer service offices.

According to Nikkei Asia report, both companies plan to participate in the Metaverse and offering exhibitions of their cars through the use of virtual reality (VR), through a partnership with the video game developer startup VRChat.

Nissan’s plan is to create virtual reality rooms for its customers, while Toyota will focus on remote working environments, creating offices for its personnel, where they can discuss technical developments.

This means that Toyota will be holding some of the work meetings in the Metaverse. A company’s representative said that this new work form is a result of the problems caused by the coronavirus.

“As more people are working from home because of the coronavirus, we are offering young employees and others communication options within the company.”

Nissan and Toyota have not yet announced in which Metaverse they will plan to engage.
