Azuki Twitter Account Hacked After Promoting Virtual Land Fraud

The well-known NFT project Azuki announced on Friday that its Twitter account had been hacked. Two tweets from what appear to be hackers asked users to claim virtual land. One tweet was stuck to the top of Azuki’s timeline so that most people would see it.

Officials from Azuki told their followers about the scam and told them not to click on any links. Dem, who is Azuki’s Head of Community and Product Manager, confirmed that the Twitter account was hacked through their performance.

Azuki was made by the company Chiru Labs. A representative for Chiru Labs said that the company is in touch with Twitter “and investigating the breach.”

Two days ago, Robinhood, an app that lets people invest in cryptocurrencies, had its Twitter account hacked. The Block asked Twitter for a comment, but they didn’t answer immediately.

The unauthorized posts make fun of Azuki’s recently released virtual world, Hilumia, which is meant to be a growing city with both genuine and digital parts.

The Block found two wallets that are linked to the scam posts. One had more than 468 ETH ($782,000) in it.
