The DOGE Rival’s Lead Developer Says SHIB’s Layer-2 Project Is Ready
A Shiba Inu (SHIB) developer says that the much-anticipated beta version of the layer-2 blockchain for the meme coin is about to be released.
The pseudonymous developer Shytoshi Kusama tells his 881,400 Twitter followers that Shibarium, Shiba Inu’s layer-2 network built on Ethereum (ETH) and similar to scaling solutions like Polygon (MATIC), is ready.
But the developer also says that it won’t be shown off just yet because one of the Dogecoin (DOGE) rival’s developers is going through a tough time right now.
Before the launch of the layer-2 network, the Shiba Inu developer who uses a fake name says he will introduce Shibarium to the world through blog posts on February 15.
Kusama says that Shibarium will come out when one of his main developers, who goes by the name ShibDev4Evr, gets over the grief of losing his father.
“Tomorrow my 1st of a series of mediums introducing the world to Shibarium will be released. The bow fit nicely, but I’m not releasing anything until [ShibDev4Evr] is done mourning.”
This week, Kusama told Telegram users that the layer-2 network was about to go live. He put down,
“Shibarium is ready. Can’t wait to show you the beta.”
After dropping hints about when Shibarium would come out, Kusama said in December 2022 that 2023 would be a “important one for humanity.”
Shibarium is expected to make transactions on the Ethereum blockchain go faster and lower the cost of gas. The Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) will be used as the governance token for the Shibarium scaling solution. The only way to pay for gas in the ecosystem is with BONE.
