Rui-Siang Lin, operating under the pseudonym “Pharoah,” was apprehended at John F. Kennedy Airport on May 18, 2024. The Manhattan United States Attorney’s Office revealed that Lin is facing severe charges, including engaging in a criminal enterprise, narcotics conspiracy, conspiracy to sell misbranded medication, and money laundering, potentially leading to a mandatory life sentence if convicted.

The FBI’s breakthrough came through the meticulous analysis of cryptocurrency transactions linked to the Incognito Market. The marketplace sold various drugs, including cocaine, heroin, LSD, MDMA, methamphetamines, and counterfeit prescription pills. It mimicked legitimate e-commerce sites with customer service, branding, and a vendor registration system. Vendors were required to use the platform’s crypto services, allowing it to skim 5% of every purchase.
