Recently, the five-star Palazzo Versace Dubai began accepting digital currencies as payment. Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), and Binance Coin are the supported cryptocurrencies (BNB).

Subway Is Also Included

The famed fast food restaurant announced that three of its Berlin locations now accept bitcoin payments. The implementation is part of an experiment to assess if clients are interested in cryptocurrency.

Daniel Hinze, the proprietor of one of the Subway locations, admits to having joined the bitcoin ecosystem five years ago. During 2021 and 2022, he intensified his interest in the asset, claiming that Bitcoin may be “the superior money system.” Over the years, Hinze has also attempted to promote the cryptocurrency by giving a 50 percent discount to clients who pay for their sandwiches with bitcoin.

Subway collaborated with the Swiss firm Lipa to trigger the cryptocurrency potential. The CEO of the latter, Bastien Feder, said that his company’s 1% merchant fee is far lower than other conventional settlement methods.
