Klarna has teamed up with Airbnb to make it easier for people in the US and Canada to pay for their stays.
Guests from the US and Canada can now apply to pay for their stays in four interest-free payments over six weeks. Guests from the US can also apply to pay monthly for tickets over $500.
Klarna’s biggest market is the US, where it has more than 7 million regular app users every month and 34 million customers.
Sebastian Siemiatkowski, who helped start Klarna and is now its CEO, says:
“We know that one of the top requests from Airbnb guests was more options to pay for their stays, so we’re super excited to offer interest free payment options and support their mission to create a world where anyone can belong anywhere.”
Klarna now has 500,000 partners around the world, and Airbnb is the newest one. This is because Klarna is expanding into the travel and events market.
The company says that the flexible payment choice for Airbnb will be made available in other markets throughout the year.
