Coinbase Study Finds 20% of Americans Hold Crypto Assets
A Coinbase analysis found that over 20% of Americans possess crypto.
The February survey estimated that 50 million People, or 20% of the US population, possess crypto, similar to early 2022.
According to the report, Americans who possess crypto assets are political.
“Crypto ownership is generally consistent for Republicans (18%), Democrats (22%), and Independents (22%), speaking to how crypto is a rare bipartisan issue.”
According to the report, younger and minority Americans hold more crypto.
The study also found that 80% of Americans believe the global financial system unfairly benefits strong interests and 67% believe it needs “substantial adjustments or a full overhaul.
“The survey found that 80% of respondents believe the current financial system is unfair, with the overwhelming majority expressing frustration with the current financial system and a hunger for change.”
According to the poll, more than three-quarters of Americans who possess crypto are positive about the future of crypto assets and blockchain technology and feel they may help fix the financial system.
“76% of those who own crypto agree that cryptocurrency and blockchain are the future. These numbers are even higher amongst people of color and younger Americans. Regardless of crypto ownership, the majority of Gen Z adults (54%) and Millennials (55%) agree that cryptocurrency and blockchain are the future.”
Morning Consult surveyed approximately 2,000 Individuals for Coinbase.
