Football NFTs Will Be Auctioned Off By Visa

As part of its sponsorship of the international soccer competition, Visa is asking soccer fans to place bids on NFTs that are inspired by legendary World Cup goals.
The card scheme is holding an online auction called “Masters of Movement” for digital artwork that was minted into one-of-a-kind NFTs and was inspired by goals from Jared Borgetti, Tim Cahill, Carli Lloyd, Michael Owen, and Maxi Rodriguez. A downloadable art file, autographed merchandise, and NFT will be sent to the fans who placed the highest offer at the auction’s conclusion.
The UK charity Street Child United will get all auction fees.
This month’s FIFA Fan Festival in Doha, Qatar, will include an interactive pitch where fans may create digital art based on their own talents and goal-scoring prowess.
Fans will enter a digital LED pitch that has tracking equipment installed so that it can record and modify their actions as they interact with other players to produce the unique dynamic artwork. Eligible fans may opt to get the digital art minted as a one-of-a-kind NFT instead of receiving it as an email keepsake.
A different development for Visa in the cryptocurrency field is the creation of a bitcoin debit card via a partnership with Marqeta and Blockchain.com. The crypto card, which is initially only accessible in the US, was created utilising Marqeta’s APIs and Just-in-Time Funding service, which enables Blockchain.com customers to make purchases using their available coin balance and settle transactions in fiat.
