Google to Permit NFT Game Ads in New Policy
Google has changed some policies regarding cryptocurrencies and related products. These protocols will be effective after the 15th of September. According to the guidelines, Google has increased the range of the permissible advertisements for games based on NFTs as long as the ad doesn’t promote gambling and the games are certified by Google.
According to the rules, certified by Google means that there should not be betting or gambling of NFTs to win against any other NFTs, cryptocurrencies and related products. Any Ad-eligible NFT games should not promote real money gambling and stimulated casino gambling. However, blockchain-based NFT games where players can buy in-game items like weapons and costumes for their characters are permissible.
The gambling Policy of Google was issued in late August, stating that all the companies that want to advertise their NFT games will need to make their ads under the new policies of Google. Another critical factor in the new rules is that the advertisement of NFT games will always warn about gambling addiction’s negative impacts. These advertisements will not target users under the age of 21.
If any user fails to follow all of these rules, Google will not suspend the account immediately. Instead, the user will receive a warning against the account. Recently, in April 2023, Google introduced a Web3 startup program which provides some benefits to the companies, such as access to Alchemy University and grants from foundation partners.
