McDonald’s And Elon Musk Tweet Exchange Leads to Birth of GrimaceCoin

McDonald’s responded to Elon Musk’s tout on McDonald’s to accept Dogecoin, with a counter for Tesla to accept something called ‘GrimaceCoin.’
After an exchange between Elon Musk and McDonald’s, a freshly created coin mentioned in the conversation pumped 6000% in less than a few hours.
Memecoins, such as Dogecoin, have become a household name in the crypto community, and the examples are virtually countless.
The meme culture has grown to become an integral part of the industry, and many would say deservingly so.
Possibility of going to work at McDonald’s has been a household meme in the crypto space during in conditions of prolonged bear markets or after vicious declines in the prices of various cryptocurrencies, much like what we saw in the past few days when Bitcoin’s price fell under $33,000.
Suddenly, McDonald’s memes exploded. Even the president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, changed his profile picture to one where he Photoshopped McDonald’s hat on his head.
McDonalnd’s saw an opportunity and took it to Twitter space:
World’s richest man, Elon Musk, seized the moment to promote Dogecoin for payments and touted the fast food chain that he would eat a happy meal on television, should McDonald’s endorse DOGE payments.
McDonald’s response was quite clever, saying that they would but “only if Tesla accepts Grimacecoin.”
After the tweets multiple websites appeared promoting a ‘GrimaceCoin,’ whether any of them are legit, is unclear at this stage.
