Opera Integrates With Starkware-Powered DiversiFi To Bring Access To DeFi

Web3 browser Opera has announced integration with Starkware-powered DeversiFi in collaboration with a blockchain-backend company Gateway.fm, to enable its users to transact with Ethereum Layer 2 directly.
Opera has plans to offer cost and time-efficient transactions within its mobile browser wallet as well as its strategy to make cryptocurrency usage more mainstream.
The official press release stated that the integration will enable low-cost and faster DeFi functionality to the web browser’s millions of users. DeversiFi’s decentralized exchange eliminates the need for user personal data.
“Opera for Android is becoming the first mobile browser with an Ethereum Layer 2 Wallet. How is this possible? Opera has integrated with DeversiFi: the integration is powered by StarkWare. What this means in practice is that OfA users will be able to transact with Ethereum Layer 2 directly, benefiting from efficient, ultra-low transactions and instant trading — making swaps 100 times quicker and more cost-effective. The new solution brings low cost and near-instant DeFi functionality to Opera’s millions of users with no personal data required via DeversiFi’s decentralised exchange.”
According to Opera the growing decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible token (NFT) adoption has hiked up the transaction fees on the Ethereum mainnet. Partnering with DeversiFi and integrating a layer 2 solution will help the Opera users to send ETH to each other in peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions, with a layer 2 swapping feature.
The ultimate goal is to remove a major obsticle associated with the use of Web3 – too high gas fees and slow network speeds.
“Through this integration, the Opera users are able to seamlessly interact with DeFi on a user-friendly interface and experience a completely new way to interact with financial services at low costs, which are particularly relevant for those users who today are being priced out of the market due to high transaction costs on Ethereum.”
