Over $400M Drained From FTX, Hours After Bankruptcy

FTX may have been hacked for more than $400 million hours after filing for bankruptcy.

The issues with FTX do not seem to cease. After failing to fulfil client withdrawals, disclosing a multibillion-dollar hole in its financial sheet, and then declaring bankruptcy, the exchange has fallen victim to yet another significant breach.

It seems that millions of dollars have been syphoned from FTX addresses.

Over $400 million in cryptocurrency disappeared from exchange wallets late Friday night, with little answers as to why.

General Counsel Ryne Miller said on Twitter that the business is conducting an investigation.

Investigating anomalous wallet movements associated with the consolidation of ftx holdings across exchanges – uncertain facts as other wallet moves are ambiguous. When we have additional information, we will share it.

Additionally, he added that the corporation took preventive measures to relocate all bitcoin to cold storage.

In the official Telegram group for FTX, administrators reportedly claimed that the exchange had been hacked.
