Payment Terminal Is Launched By Mollie

With the launch of a POS device, European payments fintech Mollie is making it easier for people to pay in person.

Mollie Terminal works for both online and in-person payments and accepts the appropriate payment methods and wallets. It does this through a single API. The device works with both 4G and Wi-Fi and is sent to businesses already set up so they can start taking payments right away.

With the Mollie Dashboard, merchants can report, reconcile, and settle all processed payments. This gets rid of the paper-based chores that are usually part of “closing the day.”

The Dutch company says it made the terminal to meet the needs of its 130,000 customers, many of whom run both online and brick-and-mortar shops.

The new technology is in addition to the QR-code-based support for in-person payments that was already there. Later this year, Mollie also plans to launch Tap to Pay for Android.

Customers in Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands will be the first to be able to use the Mollie Terminal. In the coming months, it is planned to expand to other European markets.

Koen Koppen, CEO, Mollie, says:

“Mollie Terminal is an important milestone launch and a critical part of our in-person payments offering, further strengthening our position in the unified commerce payments market.”
