UK-Certified Digital ID Provider Mastercard

Mastercard has been approved as an identity provider by the UK’s Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF).
Mastercard’s ID app, which is available in most mobile app stores, gives people more ways to prove who they are when they start a new job, buy something, rent an apartment, or apply to college.
The service uses Mastercard’s global network and data privacy practices, so people can choose what information to share, with whom, and when.
Certified groups like Mastercard can work together to make sure that digital identities and attributes are consistent and can be trusted. Providers do annual checks to make sure they meet DIATF standards.
“By receiving certification in the UK, Mastercard can collaborate with the private and public sector to offer ID,” says Sarah Clark, SVP, Digital Identity at Mastercard.
Mastercard has been expanding ID globally since 2019, when it announced several pilots and global partnerships with Samsung and Microsoft. Over the past two years, Mastercard has also worked well with Optus, one of Australia’s largest phone companies, to help more than 600,000 of its customers get ID cards.
