EBA Clearing Tests EU Fraud Pattern And Anomaly Detection

EBA Clearing is getting ready to start an analytical pilot to find fraud patterns and outliers across all of Europe.
In November, all STEP2 and RT1 users will be able to use full fraud protection and detection tools. The pilot in July is a step toward that.
The new features are meant to help users get ready for the expected increase in account-to-account transactions and broader use of quick payments.
EBA Clearing says that it adds to the PSPs’ individual risk views by giving them information about trends and outliers from the point of view of the central infrastructure.
Erwin Kulk, EBA Clearing, says:
“We look forward to the insights from the analytical pilot to further fine-tune the functionality ahead of the go-live. We will also continue to intensify our exchange with the user community to ensure everyone can get ready to adopt and benefit from the solution from the start.”
