Kevin O’Leary Has Allocated 20% Of His Wealth Into Cryptocurrency

Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary has said that 20% of his investment portfolio is in crypto. The businessman who prior wasn’t convinced on crypto assets, now said that investing in crypto, is like investing in giant corporations such as Google and Microsoft.

In 2019, O’Leary was among the biggest critics of the crypto industry, and said back then that bitcoin is “worthless,” “useless currency,” and even “garbage because you can’t get in and out of it in large amounts.”

His attitude towards crypto started to change at the beginning of 2021, when he said he is not against BTC and that he even has respect towards the asset. Shortly after, allocated 3% of his portfolio to bitcoin.

Speaking with CNBC, O’Leary revealed his exposure to digital assets equals 20% of his investments.

“I have millions of dollars in crypto. 20% of my portfolio is in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.”

Speaking of the Bitcoin, he made a point that investing in it is like buying shares of leading tech companies like Microsoft and Google. He also revealed holding Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and Avalanche (AVAX).

“You have to be diversified. I own 32 different positions, including equity and FTX itself: I’m backing their initiatives. You don’t know who’s going to win: is Ethereum going to win, is Solana, is Avalanche? I own them all.”
