‘AI-powered’ Project Steals $1M From Consumers

The project, called “Harvest Keeper,” was said to improve the way trading works and to give back 101% of the money invested in 21 days.

Due to ChatGPT v4, artificial intelligence (AI) has become a hot topic. A project claiming to be a “AI-based” decentralized application has taken almost $1 million from its users in what is thought to be a scam.

As of this writing, the blockchain security platform CertiK has just confirmed that Harvest Keeper has stolen about $933,000. CertiK says that users on the Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Polygon networks have lost about $219,000 because of ice phishing transactions. The security company told people to stop using its website and to take back the permissions they gave to the project.

Harvest Keeper said it was an AI project that “optimizes the trading process for maximum payout” and promised a 4.81% return on user deposits. The platform’s website claimed an 8% referral payment and a 101% return on investment in 21 days. The project has more than 32,000 people following it on its Telegram channel and almost 30,000 people following it on Twitter.

As the ChatGPT buzz started up again on Twitter, dozens of accounts claiming to be part of “CryptoGPT” started showing up on the social network. On March 10, a hashtag called “CryptoGPT,” which is part of a token project, became popular. With it, a lot of accounts like it have popped up, and some of them are advertising fake giveaways. There are also a lot of Twitter accounts with similar names. Some of these accounts are thought to be fake because they offer giveaways and airdrops.

As ChatGPT’s most recent version showed that it could audit smart contracts on Ethereum, many people wondered if it could eventually replace developers. At ETHDubai, blockchain engineers expressed confidence that the new version of the popular AI tool will help developers rather than replace them.
