Berlin B2B BNPL Introduces Mondu In The UK

A buy now, pay later business based in Berlin Mondu is going to open an office in London and hire a sales team there.

The UK launch comes after the company expanded into the Netherlands and Austria. It offers customers a variety of services, such as MonduOnline B2B BNPL for e-commerce checkout and its recently launched MonduSell for multichannel sales, with flexible payment options of 30, 45, 60, and 90 days.

Mondu has also added the French market, which is currently only open to buyers and was launched at the same time as the UK.

Mondu announced a $13M Series A extension earlier this year. This brings the company’s total equity and debt funding to $90M since it was founded in October 2021.

Malte Huffmann, who helped start Mondu and is one of its co-CEOs, says:

“The time is right for Mondu to launch in the UK. UK B2B commerce is the second largest in Europe, and there’s a real need for BNPL as we’ve seen through a growing demand from UK businesses for our solutions, since our initial launch. Our payment solutions can help both online and offline companies across Britain provide their business customers with a consumer-like, best-in-class payment experience.”

The company is also adding to its C-suite by hiring Eric Weijs as its chief risk officer. He came from ABN Amro Asset Finance, where he was in charge of 150 risk professionals. He joins Julian Kurz, who was just named chief commercial officer, and Lauren Hoehlein Joseph, who was just named chief people officer.
