Threads 70 Million Sign-ups In First 2 Days: Meta Announced

Meta announced its new app threads reach 70 million sign-ups in first 2 days.

Meta CEO Markzuckerberg tweeted on Friday, “70 million sign-ups on Threads as of this morning. Way beyond our expectations”.

Zuckerberg announced in its earlier tweet that their app Thread reach 2 million sign-ups in first two hours, 5 million in its first four hours and 10 million in its first seven hors of launch.

On the contrary, rival app Twitter undergoes blackout on its desktop app and to minor extent on its mobile app, CNBC reported on Friday.

Threads launched on Wednesday (July 5) in over 100 countries and in both iOS and Android versions.

Meta’s new app is developed by Meta’s Instagram team, which provides more space to share posts that are more than 500 characters and includes links, videos and images that are up to five minutes long.

Meta said on reporting the launch that their vision is to take that Instagram does best and inflate that to text, developing a positive space and space to demonstrate your ideas.
